Make my business digital accessible
Beau Hoekstra

Is your business for everyone?

Every person, regardless of disability should be able to use products and services offered by companies. You should not think of being blind and asking random people on the street what the balance in your bank account is. You want to be able to listen, read, see or perhaps feel this independently. However you use the internet or physical products, everyone has a right to be able to do this independently.

Is the organisation not yet intrinsically motivated to be accessible to all or offer accessible products and services? That's where the European Commission has come up with something: The European Accessibility Act. If you want to know all about this act, visit our page on the act first:

About the European Accessibility Act

Projectmanagement

You know what the European Accessibility Act is, and what it means. Now comes proper implementation of the legislation. Do you know what you need to do to be fully accessible? Could you use some help with this? With our experience in digital accessibility, WCAG, physical accessibility and projects around the implementation of the European Accessibility Act and WDO we will help you further.

Do you recognise these obstacles?

Do you need to secure the European Accessibility Act in your organisation? Perhaps you recognise the following obstacles.

1. Size

The digital and physical landscape of the organisation is so big that you can't oversee the extent of all the work. You have to map it all out.

2. Little knowledge

Digital accessibility, as well as physical accessibility, are areas of expertise not found within the organisation. The knowledge is lacking to deal with them directly and on a large scale.

3. Stakeholders

It takes multiple stakeholders to comply. And it takes a lot of effort to bring them together. Think of different suppliers, project groups, communication advisers and policy staff.

4. What do I need to comply with?

The European Accessibility Act is huge if you don't deal with it on a daily basis. What all do you have to comply with?

5. Chaos

The digital accessibility project is not centrally coordinated and therefore difficult to organise.

6. Responsibility

There is no one responsible for the issue and therefore it is not taken up from on high.

7. Budget

There is too little budget available, leaving few options.

Here's what we do

Phase 1: Policy & Law

We are at the beginning of the process of gaining and implementing support, policy and budget for digital accessibility within your organisation.

Phase 2: End-user results

Awareness-raising, create knowledge, WCAG surveys, take action, PDF management, inclusive communication and ensuring suppliers comply with WCAG 2.1 AA as well as the WCAG 2.2 AA

Phase 3: Herhaling

You continue improvements in digital accessibility. We analyse and implement processes and embed digital accessibility as a guideline or policy, ensuring its long-term sustainability.

De concrete stappen

  1. Mapping services

Your business needs to comply with the European Accessibility Act, but where do you start? Mapping the accessible landscape is the first step towards providing accessible services.

  2. GAP analysis

We start with a 0 measurement using our WCAG audits. This gives a clear insight into the state of affairs. We examine the state of knowledge, accessibility of services and products and the steps you need to take organisationally to be fully digitally accessible to comply with the European Accessibility Act.

    • Complete WCAG 2.2 audit

Complete audit according to WCAG-EM, based on WCAG 2.2, level AA.

    • Content audit

Ideal if a full WCAG audit is not needed. We figure this out together.

    • Technical audit

Do you want to develop your platform digitally accessible? Then opt for a technology study.

    • App audit

Audit your app and get an accessibility declaration report.

  3. All care off your hands

We understand that your business has a lot going on. That's why we take all the worries around digital accessibility off your hands, so you can focus on core business. We provide an accessible, efficient service and minimise development time without losing quality. Thanks to our experience, we offer the best project management.

  4. Implementation and assurance

After 28 June 2025, everything you share must be (digitally) accessible. It is therefore crucial that all work is properly secured in your organisation's processes. In this step, we provide that assurance.

  5. Training and knowledge

For the best assurance, the right knowledge is important. We have the right training courses for the right people working on implementing accessibility solutions. Cardan offers you the best training approach for all your colleagues.

  6. Kennispartner

For the future, you will always have to remain accessible and it will remain a topic in your organisation. Cardan will remain your knowledge partner on accessibility to always keep providing you with the latest insights and knowledge.
