Accessibility statement
As a specialist in the field of digital accessibility, we think it is very important to offer our own website accessible as well. This statement tells you what we are doing to make and keep our website cardan.com digitally accessible.
August 2024: new website
In the summer of 2024, we completely revamped our website. During development, we commissioned a quickscan to ensure that we could identify critical accessibility issues in time. For example, we could ensure that our website did not contain keyboard traps.
Two weeks before going live, we commissioned a full WCAG audit to identify what improvements we wanted to place where on the roadmap. We were able to implement 80% of the suggestions immediately. So don't be put off by the amount of findings in a WCAG report either!
Some success criteria touch each other; by solving one problem you also solve another. You can make a lot of impact in a relatively short time with simple interventions.
However, technical limitations can sometimes get in the way, even with digital accessibility. For example, at Cardan we chose to add the functionality for a language change later (think of words in another language, such as European Accessibility Act).
Outcome 2021: website fully compliant
The July 8, 2021 inspection showed that www.technobility.nl fully meets the 50 success criteria of the WCAG2.1 AA. The inspection was conducted according to the test method recommended by Logius WCAG-EM .
Technobility.nl carries the Quality Mark drempelvrij certificate and is included in DDAI's register of Waarmerkberagers .
Design and technology
Our website was designed and developed by Krafters in Tilburg. Our own digital accessibility specialists were closely involved in the development. We also have the technical further development and improvements of the website carried out by a digital accessibility specialist from Cardan Projects.
Content and editing
Our editors are trained in accessible content placement. Before and after publishing new content, we always perform an additional check. This involves the editor asking for feedback from a colleague to identify any missed issues.
Control and assurance
To ensure quality, we provide extra checks and invest in the knowledge and training of our employees. We do this in the following ways:
We have our website checked every year with a quick scan.
In case of major changes to the website (design or technology) we perform a full inspection on the changed part ourselves.
New employees are trained internally with the latest knowledge on digital accessibility.
We actively offer in-service training to our staff and encourage self-study.
Research report
The investigation report shows the points on which the website was checked and which pages were included in the sample.
